Do You Know How to Pin with Instagram?

If you have a website or online business to promote and you aren’t utilising Pinterest, well you’re missing out.  The biggest sources of traffic to my website are the search engines (yay) and Pinterest. Do you know what the best part about that is? Once you put the work in initially, they are both relatively passive methods of gaining hits on your website.

Pinterest is a visual search engine, so it’s like google but with pictures.  But unlike other social platforms (I’m looking at you Facebook) Pinterest doesn’t penalize you when other users exit the platform to read your content. The whole point of the platform is to direct people to external sources. Be it product pages, blog posts or any other external link.  This leads me nicely to my next point. The total monthly active users on Pinterest is about 250 million. Furthermore, there are about 2 million users saving shopping pins to their boards daily.

Are you intrigued about Pinterest yet?  If so you might want to read on!

This post combines two of my favourite platforms, Pinterest and Instagram. Do they work well together? Heck yes they do.

Let’s find out how.

Why Pin with Instagram?

The thing I love about Pinterest is that Pinspiration (see what I did there) doesn’t have to come solely from Pinterest itself.  Other search engines / sites can be utilized to add interesting content directly to your Pinterest boards!  Recently I have started to Pin with Instagram as both social media platforms complement each other really well.

I have used this technique to build up my group board “Introducing the Artist; Positive Inspiration.”  The intention of this board is to introduce and provide links back to other Artists that inspire.  Since Instagram is full of fantastic Artists it is a great place to discover great art to share!  Sharing is caring!

The excitement doesn’t stop…If you are an Artist with an Instagram account, you can easily share your own posts via Instagram to Pinterest.  In this way you can showcase your artistic flare to a new audience.

Check out my “Personal Portfolio: Art & Design” board for Pinspo.  I find Instagram to be the most user friendly platform to share personal Artwork.  But I love it even more now I know how easy it is to duplicate my posts via Pinterest to reach a wider audience.

OK that’s enough preamble…Let’s crack on!
