4 Quick Tips to Create a Killer Marketing Video
Video is one of the most powerful types of content in marketing, and it is steadily growing in popularity. 92% of marketers now claim that video is an integral part of their marketing strategy, and it’s no wonder. More people are consuming video than ever before. In fact, well over a billion hours of video content are uploaded every single day, and users watch nearly 5 billion hours daily.
It’s clear that there is an enormous market for it. With platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok growing in popularity, there is no end to the opportunities for brands to leverage it. If your business does not yet use video in its marketing strategy, there is no better time to start than right now. Long gone are the days when you need expensive, high-end equipment to shoot a quality video. Most smartphones now have excellent cameras and recording functionality, so as long as someone in your company has a recent phone, it requires very little financial investment.
But how do you even begin shooting a video? If you don’t fancy yourself an expert behind the camera, here are some handy tips for shooting a killer marketing video.
Create a Plan
In order to make the production and editing process go as smoothly as possible, it’s essential to have a clear idea of what your video will look like before you start. Think about the message you want to get across and everything you will need to shoot it. Try to storyboard your video so that you can stay focused on your goal throughout.
Explain Your Product or Service
Your marketing video will no doubt have the ultimate goal of promoting your business. Whether it’s to create brand awareness, promote a specific product, or drive traffic to your website, you need to make sure viewers clearly understand what your business does and what you offer.
Otherwise, they will have no reason to interact with your online presence once they have finished watching. Tell the story of your brand as if you’re talking to someone who has no idea what you do, and be sure to include your company branding throughout the video.
Be Entertaining
If your video is too promotional, viewers will lose interest and switch off. First and foremost, it needs to provide value. This means it should be both informative and entertaining. Don’t be afraid to use humour or jump on topical trends.
Promote the Video
Once your video is complete, you want as many people to see it as possible. That means promoting it through all possible platforms. Upload it to your website, post it on social media and share it to your email marketing list.
As with any new skill, practice makes perfect. Start small with occasional short videos, and you will soon hone your craft and improve your video output. If you do not have the time or resources to shoot your own marketing video, you may wish to consider hiring a video production company to take care of the technical stuff for you.
