Improve your Instagram & Twitter Game using Linktree
Hi my name is Rachael Hope and I’m embroiled in a passionate love affair with Instagram…we’ve been going steady for quite some time, but in the past few months it’s gotten pretty serious. As much as I don’t want to share my love … I DO want to help you improve your Instagram and Twitter game with this FREE tool!
Why Improve your Instagram?
All jokes aside I do actually LOVE Instagram. It’s an amazing way to share anything photo/image based and reach out to a wider audience who dig your aesthetics. When used correctly, it can really help you find your tribe! I use my profile to share photos of my Artwork, behind the scenes/ work in progress images and my cats too obvs!
Oh yeah and the hashtag options are pretty sweet too; you can use up to 30 at a time. Unlike other platforms you won’t get penalised in search appearances for using the full amount.
But there is one issue letting the side down, especially for us bloggers! Unlike with other platforms, hyperlinks do not work. This is a real bind! For example:
- a) Within a post comment you can copy a link into the text but it isn’t clickable…a user has to then copy the link you copied to paste it back into the search engine…zoinks.
- b) You can only place ONE clickable link within your bio. That sucks right?!
Although currently (at least to my knowledge) there is no solution to point a) you can EASILY solve point b) Yaaay!
The solution is LINKTREE!
So what is Linktree?
Linktree is a FREE tool that helps you optimise your Instagram profile and direct traffic efficiently. As mentioned above, you only get one bio link, but with Linktree you can use it to house ALL of your content. That one lil link, works overtime!
Here is a screen capture of my Instagram Bio. Can you see that lonely link…
Now THIS is what comes up when you click it. BOOM! All my socials and my website in one click of a button.
Hopefully you are beginning to see the potential in this free tool! You don’t even have to be a super tech wiz genius to activate Linktree. Trust me, I can do it you can!
How to Set up Linktree
Step 1
Head over to Linktree by clicking here!
The screen should look like this:
Step 2
Click the big green button that says sign up with Instagram … go on you know it makes sense…
Follow this up by entering your Instagram details.
Step 3
The next screen should look like this. Please ignore the Facebook link as I have already generated that. Now simply press add new button / link to get started.
* make a mental note of your bio link, this is what you paste into your website link within Instagram!
Step 4
A new box will then appear with a blank title and url box. Click on each box to add a title with and your corresponding link. For example, I have called my first link Facebook and added the link to my Facebook page.
If you swipe the slider next to the exclamation mark, this will make the link go live. You can also delete links by clicking the bin (or trash?!) icon.
Step 5
Keep adding your links until you are happy with the final outcome. This is a screen capture of how mine looks from within Linktree itself.
Step 6
Copy your bio link from within Linktree, open up Instagram, click edit profile and paste into the website box.
HEY PRESTO! You have now improved your Instagram game exponentially!
UPDATE
Since originally writing this post I have now updated my Twitter profile with my Linktree URL. This means that once again all my links are one place! Good stuff right?
Please see below:
Quick side note, don’t forget to add your Instagram URL to your Linktree if you are using also the URL outside of Instagram 🙂
